Faculty
Becky Simpson,Studio Director, is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. degree in Dance. Miss Becky's emphasis on
proper technique along with her motto, “It's all in the face”, has driven her competitive students to earn numerous top awards including
overall regional and national awards, solo title winners, and top studio.  Her students have been recognized by dance industry leaders
and awarded scholarships to further their dance education. Many of her students have continued their dance education at universities
and others have begun successful careers in the professional dance world. Becky is also an active, certified member of Dance Masters
of Michigan and Dance Masters of America, with whom she is able to continue her dance education with many well-known professionals
in the industry.  She has also been awarded numerous choreography awards on both the regional and national levels. In addition to her
teaching and choreography experience, Becky is on the judges panel for several well known regional and national competitions,
including Hall of Fame Dance Challenge and Dance USA, where she shares her knowledge and love for dance with students across the
country.
Cheryll Custer Cheryll has been teaching for over ten years in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz and contemporary.  She is an active member of
Cecchetti Council of America, Dance Masters of America, Dance Masters of Michigan and the Eastern Michigan Committee.  Cheryll
holds her Intermediate Professional Certificate through CCA and is a teacher and a coach in the Cecchetti method.  She has danced
her entire life competing and performing, including roles such as the Snow Queen with the LCBC.  She has taken class with several
master teachers/choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Tyce Dioro and Frank Hachett.  Her mentors include the notable Mary Helen
Stewart, Jean Gloria Newell and Arnell St. Juliana. She has continued her training through the annual Dance Teachers Summit, the CCA
International Teachers Seminar and the Cecchetti Diploma Intensive to study with Diane Van Schoor of the Royal Ballet of London
(White Lodge).  Several of her students have achieved numerous overall regional and national titles and awards and she has won
several choreography awards.  Along with teaching, she has judged several dance competitions and pageants nationwide including
Dance USA and American's Junior Miss.  She also coached a high school varsity pom/dance team for seven years, ranking statewide.  
Additionally, Cheryll holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University, graduating
Magna Cum Laude.
Shannon Davis is a veteran member of PCPDC.  Shannon grew up at our studio and after completing high school became a member
of the Detroit Pistons Automotion Dance Team and the Ignition Spark Dance Team.  Since then Shannon has been choreographing
and judging for local cheer and dance teams at both the high school and college level.  Since her return to PCPDC, Shannon has won
many choreography awards and her work has been awarded several overall awards.
Lauren Davis (Hodges) has been dancing for over 20 years, and has been teaching in the field for 5 years.  In 2007 she graduated
Cum Laude from Western Michigan University with a B.A. in Dance. While attending Western she performed in Balanchine’s Serenade-
Restaged by Victoria Simon, Suite Otis- Restaged and Choreographed by George Faison (Choreographer of “The Wiz”), along with
many faculty and student choreographed works. As a part of Western’s performing company, Lauren was invited to perform Suite Otis,
choreographed by George Faison at the Master of African American Choreography Concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
They performed with PHILADANCO! The Philadelphia Dance Company. From 2004-2005 Lauren was a member of Western’s touring
dance company, the Western Dance Project. From 1999-2003 Lauren was also a member of the Livonia Ballet Company. While dance
is one of Lauren’s loves, she also enjoys working with children. In 2008, Lauren earned her second degree, graduating Cum Laude
with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has over 10 years experience working with students and helping them grow as individuals.
Karen Eck has been dancing since the age of 4 beginning at St. Mary’s School of Dance in Detroit, and later becoming a member
of the Mid-West Ballet Theatre Company. She is a long standing member of Dance Masters of America and Dance Masters of
Michigan, and has been living the dream of teaching for the past 20 years! Miss Karen has served on the Board of Directors and
is now the Secretary of the Michigan Chapter.  Passing all of the traditional core exams (ballet, tap, jazz), she is
a Post Graduate of Teachers Training School at State University of New York at Buffalo and is continually bringing up-to-date
dance training to her classes. She creatively includes terminology , history and kinesiology. Karen specializes in
teaching children and is known for her creative choreography.  She has also developed a successful dance program for young
children.
